Abstract :
The fabrication of a three-dimensional photonic crystals (3D PC) with photonic band gap (PBG) at near infrared wavelength and the preparation of the opal-magnetite and the opal-garnet 3D magnetophotonic crystals (MPC) were presented. The crystals were characterized using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Visible and infrared transmission spectra of the samples were studied.
