Abstract :
Object tracking is a highly difficult process to implement on a single sensor chip especially for complex real-world targets. This paper shows that the advanced BMA (Block Matching Algorithm), which can track vehicles in the real world, has been implemented on a single chip using CMOS sensor technology. The device incorporates 64 × 64 APS (Active Pixel Sensor), parallel analogue memory and an SC (Switched Capacitor) parallel processing unit. This sensor chip achieves 10,000 frames/s real time tracking for complex images.
