Abstract :
This ASIC integrates a complete FDD-DMT VDSL system, up to the ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) interface, the line signal uses a spectrum of 17.6 MHz. It can be used at both sides of the line (Central Office and Customer Premises), with a bi-directional 2×58 Mb/s throughput. It is processed on a chip area of 76 mm2and consumes 600 mW. Fast prototyping through FPGA was adopted as a new design methodology.
