Abstract :
The use of holography in optical memories and displays has received a great deal of attention in recent years. This paper will briefly review some of the developments and present their current status. Various types of holograms that can be used in holographic data storage will be described with particular emphasis on the use of thick recording media. Finally, the use of multicolor holography in displays and the problems encountered will be discussed. Experimental results which, demonstrate these holographic applications will be presented.
