Abstract :
This paper proposes a slot-inserted semi-circular disc (SCD) antenna fed by a microstrip for wideband applications. The antenna gives a bandwidth of 3.9-8.9 GHz for S11 < -10 dB with a very compact size. Rectangular and circular slots have been studied for the bandwidth improvement. Parametric study has been carried out to optimize the performance. The simulated results are in good agreement with the measured ones.
