Abstract
This paper presents the development of a module of network-based virtual instrument technology which is used for inspecting the performance of vehicles. G Web server provided by NI Corporation helped issue the vehicle inspection panel on the Web. Meanwhile, DataSocket technique helped transfer data through Internet. LabVIEW and Web technology were combined to realize the remote control of vehicle inspection to meet the needs of clients. The system has been proved to be quite effective in the examination of vehicle performances, such as brake horsepower, speed, noises, lamplight, smoke intensity and the weight of every axle.
