Abstract
In this paper, the convergence behaviors of the weight-controlled nonlinear successive and parallel interference cancellation methods are investigated. These algorithms are shown to converge to the same solution if the interference cancellation weights satisfy some requirements decided by the eigenvalues of the correlation matrix. Due to the presence of interference cancellation weight, both algorithms have much better convergence properties than the conventional nonlinear successive and parallel interference cancellation methods. Alternatively, they can help to reduce the computational complexities and the processing delay considerably for practical systems.
