Abstract
In this paper, it is shown that the transmitted signal of ultra-wideband-time-hopping-BPPM (UWB-TH-BPPM) system has some impulses in its power spectral density (PSD). These impulses severely degrade the system performance; hence, in this paper, six novel modulation schemes are designed for UWB-PPM systems in the manner that they do not have this problem. Moreover, for the proposed schemes, four novel receiver architectures are introduced to demodulate 4-ary PPM modulation signals by using just two correlators instead of four ones.
