Abstract :
We investigate the potential performance benefits of implementing multistage parallel interference cancellation in a single floor indoor DS-CDMA system using measured propagation data and a Monte Carlo performance analysis. The results show that order-of-magnitude performance gains are achievable and that no more than two stages of interference cancellation are required. It is also shown that although these performance gains are particularly sensitive to the positions of base stations, there is no apparent general strategy for optimal base station deployment.
