Abstract :
We have studied demagnetization processes in ferromagnetic InMnAs induced by femtosecond mid-infrared laser pulses. At high pump fluences, complete magnetization quenching was observed within a few picoseconds, implying an ultrafast ferro- to paramagnetic phase transition.
