Abstract
A closed-form expression is derived for the effective aggregate throughout delivered to a population of users in a forward link 1xEV-DV cellular system. The throughput is expressed in terms of two main classes. The first class consists of parameters that are associated with the wireless physical (PHY) layer and medium access control (MAC) sub-layer of the 1xEV-DV air interface system. The second term is a discrete random process that reflects the users channel characteristics in terms of the stochastic behavior of the users joint signal-to-interference-plus-noise (SINR) ratio. The parameters in the first class are analytically defined while the second class is analytically undefined. A method using computer simulation is presented for calculating the parameters in the second class.
