Abstract
In a conventional wireless communication system, radio link protocol (RLP) is designed to provide wireline-like transmission performance by reducing the over-the-air errors. In high-speed transmission, because the performance is more sensitive to the delay as the speed increase, the RLP re-transmission delay could potentially become a problem. To resolve the problem, the MAC-layer retransmission is considered. In this paper, we evaluate the transmission control protocol (TCP)/radio link protocol (RLP)/medium access control (MAC) performance based on cdma2000 MAC retransmission protocol for different transmission rates.
