  • Abstract
In this paper, a study of the effect of preconditioning on the iterative matrix solver for the FETD method applied to a cavity problem is presented. An incomplete Cholesky with drop tolerance preconditioner is applied to the conjugate gradient method and a multi-level nested dissection is used. The reduction in number of iterations versus the number of fill-ins for the preconditioner are also investigated. The convergence rate as a function of element size and order of basis functions will also be considered
