  • Abstract
    In this paper, a printed wide-slot antenna fed by a simple microstrip line with a hexagonal slot for wideband operation is proposed and experimentally studied. By choosing a proper type of hexagonal slot, it can be expected that the other resonant mode operating near one of the conventional wide-slot antenna can be obtained. Thus, a wideband slot antenna with a larger bandwidth can be obtained. In this study, the impedance characteristics of hexagonal slot antennas with various types of hexagonal slots are presented. Also, radiation, and gain characteristics of this antenna are shown and discussed
