Abstract
This paper addresses a new compact UWB field representation, which is based on the two-dimensional associate Hermite functions (AHF2), introduced in the image processing area for application in image coding and computer visual systems. The two-dimensional Hermite analysis is applied to the time-varying electromagnetic images, by means of an automatic choice of the most critical parameters such as the scaling factors. The basic theory of the computation procedure has been developed and first results on relevant UWB antennas have shown good accuracy and an interesting capability to compress the radiation dynamics into a small set of parameters
