Abstract :
Earth-satellite propagation channel above about 10 GHz is subject to several meteorological impairments. Attenuation and depolarization by rain droplets, depolarization by ice clouds and scintillation due to atmospheric refractive index irregularities are the main effects. The characterization of all this phenomena requires long term measurements by monitoring a satellite beacon. Hereby we describe a few tools to convert raw data beacon measurements to a versatile propagation data base. Some recent measurement results are also presented
