Abstract
In space-based radar (SBR), the Earth rotation results in an external Doppler component of the clutter patch. It in turn affects the clutter spectrum through transforming the shapes of the clutter ridges in both angle-Doppler and range-Doppler domain. The relationship between the shapes and nadir point latitude of the platform as well as the system parameters, such as orbit altitude, incline, operation wavelength and pulse repetition frequency (PRF) are discussed in this paper and Earth rotation effects are evaluated in different SBR systems.
