  • Abstract
Antennas mounted on singly curved surfaces are an important class of conformal arrays for applications where a large (azimuthal) angular coverage is required. These types of antennas have been used in many experimental radar and communication systems, in particular circular cylinders. However, other types of singly curved surfaces are better suited for some applications, e.g. the aircraft wing. For these more general cylinder surfaces there are very few results available in the literature. In this paper we present results to give an overview of the performance of radiating elements located on singly curved surfaces. The focus is on the mutual coupling and its influence on the radiating characteristics.
