Abstract :
A new method of null synthesis in the antenna pattern of a phased array is discussed. The technique is based on the elevation of selected elements of the array. The elevation of the selected elements is obtained from the minimization of the power at the null locations. The results show the ability of this technique to achieve pattern nulling by controlling the elevation of selected elements while keeping the elevation of the insignificant elements unchanged, without changing the phases or the current amplitudes of the array elements.
