Abstract :
We present a novel and systematic procedure to define the initial guess in the iterative generalized minimal residual (GMRES) search for the electric current solution in the MoM scattering analysis of thin-strip arrays under normal incidence. We show for several thin-strip arrays that the number of steps and the computational time to converge decrease significantly with this new initial guess choice when compared with the conventional zero initial guess. This reduction becomes increasingly drastic as the electrical dimensions of the thin-strip array become larger.
