Abstract
Spurious radiations of a patch antenna have been suppressed by the band-stop characteristic of split ring resonators (SRRs). The SRRs are located near the feed line of the upper substrate to couple the perpendicular magnetic field to the SRRs. These types of SRRs can be characterized with negative permeability and positive permittivity near the resonant frequency, so that the wave cannot propagate. Six sets of SRRs have been used to eliminate the first and second spurious radiations of a patch antenna.
