  • Abstract
In the transmitting and receiving antenna for the UHF band broadcasting, the requirements of the antenna are wideband linear polarization characteristics. It is possible to make a wideband antenna using the loop antenna, arranged vertically, with a circumference length about one wavelength. Miniaturization becomes possible in a simple shape by the realization of a wideband and high-gain linearly polarized ring loop antenna (RLA). The RLA is presented as a receiving antenna for the 470-770 MHz UHF band, but it can also be implemented as the transmitting and receiving antenna in the repeater station for digital terrestrial broadcasting. Because of its simple shape, the antenna element can be integrated with its feeder circuit, and light weight miniaturization becomes possible. It is possible to realize wide-band high-gain linear polarization to cover all UHF bands.
