Abstract
In this paper we study the properties of a half disc dipole ultra wideband (UWB) antenna. The antenna is numerically analyzed using the finite difference time domain (FDTD) technique. The results obtained for the half disc UWB dipole antenna are similar to that obtained for the circular dipole antenna; the only difference in the case of the half disc dipole antenna is the reduction in size of the antenna.
