Abstract :
Time varying electromagnetic fields in conducting media can be analyzed in terms of the current density vector, usually defined by an integral equation, whose analytical solution is possible only in simple configurations. For complex structures, numerical procedures are employed and, among them, the moment method can be applied, leading to matrix-form equations. Solution for transient electromagnetic field problems can be obtained in the frequency domain, but, in this case, the Gibbs phenomenon strongly affects the accuracy of the procedure. An efficient time domain computational procedure based on the moment method was developed and it is presented with an application example.
