  • Abstract
    A novel approach is presented which predicts the resonant frequency of a shorting post loaded circular patch in the presence of a centered short. The theoretical analysis based on a cavity model is presented. It is shown that in the presence of a centered short, the lowest resonance (TM01 mode) displays an upward trend when the off-centered shorting post is pushed towards the periphery of the patch, as against the case when the center short is absent. Comparison with IE3D is also presented.
