Abstract
An optical communication network using multimode fiber was implemented. Characteristics of direct modulation of the laser diode at different bias currents and many bit rates at a stabilized temperature will be presented. Many modulation schemes have been involved in the investigation. Mach-Zehnder modulator, based on LiNbO3 substrate, had been used for the modulation of the laser diode light output as analog-amplitude modulated signals. Fourier -transform of the power output will be presented at different bias currents. Results will be compared to the direct modulation of the laser diode for the pulse dispersion.
