  • Abstract
This paper discusses the design of a low pass multibit sigma-delta modulator using a continuous-time (CT) loop filter and a successive approximation (SA) A/D converter as multibit quantizer in the sigma-delta-modulator. Thus extending the quantizer bits in order to reach a high signal to noise ratio does not massively increase the power dissipation and the area of the modulator. Calculation details and simulation results for low pass continuous time multibit sigma delta modulators are presented
