Abstract
With the great development in the technology of IPv6, IPv6-based next generation Internet has wildly deployed in China. Then the network management system for IPv4 network is meeting a great challenge. For IPv6 addressing scheme changed and new protocol characteristics introduced, the network management system of IPv4 cannot effectively manage the IPv6 devices. This paper proposes to apply proxy agent into IPv6 network management. The application aims to fetch information useful for effectively managing network equipments that do not support IPv6 MIB currently in IPv6 network.
