Abstract :
Free metal and metal oxide clusters and their prototypical reactions in the gas-phase are characterized in order to provide a basis for the understanding of the chemistry of supported nanoparticles relevant in the catalysis. Infrared multiphoton depletion with a free electron laser is used to record the spectra of size selected clusters and clusters after the reaction with relevant partner molecules.
