  • Abstract
    Recent tests on two different gyrotrons have yielded results aimed at increasing power levels and pulse durations of high-power gyrotrons for magnetic fusion applications. A 140 GHz gyrotron has been tested to a power level of 900 kW for 30-minute pulses and a 110 GHz gyrotron has been tested up to power levels of 1.28 MW for 1 ms pulses. The design of the two devices is discussed and the details of the tests are presented.
