Abstract :
Optical atomic clocks using cold atoms, stable lasers and femtosecond laser frequency combs provide high accuracy and stability from RF to the ultraviolet. They have unprecedented performance: ultrahigh stability, sub-fs timing jitter, low-noise microwaves, and several new uses.
