Abstract
For truly autonomous systems the exchange, distribution and use of collectively available information implies that individual system elements have both a commonly understood exchange language and a commonly understood context for meaning. This presentation addressed requirements issues and needs for the development of a unified information exchange mechanism for autonomous systems, including formal exchange standards, information metadata, information uncertainties, and context properties, all of which lead to implications for processing, understanding and distributing information.
