Abstract
Hybrid stepping motor (simplified as HSM) is complicated in structure with the axial and radial magnetic circuits. The method, which connects the calculation of magnetic field and magnetic circuit, is effective. The basic idea of the method is presented in this paper. The key calculation model of the method, the tooth layer unit model (simplified as TLU), and its engineering rationality are analyzed with the 2-D finite element analysis. The result shows that the method is simple and practical and that TLU can meet the precision need of engineering.
