Abstract
The presentation considers the implications of MIMO techniques for DSP implementation of wireless systems. We consider its effect on the implementation of terminals, with particular reference to multi-band MIMO antenna arrays, and also the possible advantages of adaptivity, enabled by DSP. We consider various forms of adaptivity, and show that in certain channels, adaptive systems of various sorts can yield several-fold capacity increases.
