Abstract :
In this paper, an initial discussion is presented on the potential of applying electronic equalization in WDM optical communication systems. The novelty of our work is that the fibre is considered nonlinear with FWM being the dominant source of distortion. Possible dependencies between the outputs of the desired channel and the bits transmitted in other channels are explored and some simple joint channel equalization structures are tested
