Abstract :
We describe the development of an HPGe cross-strip detector with energy resolution intended for mouse heart imaging. The detector is designed with 2 mm wide strips, but is intended to achieve 300 mum spatial resolution by processing spectator strip signals. We review the design requirements that this implies and then describe in detail the 16 channel, 12 bit, 100 MHz digital spectroscopy module that we have developed to achieve these goals
