Abstract :
We investigated transmission limits due to nonlinear distortion in 40 Gbit/s RZ/NRZ transmission over NZ-DSF using higher-order-mode fibre dispersion compensators, and identified their optimum positioning to minimise self-phase modulation and intra-channel nonlinearities.
