Abstract
In this paper the authors present a PC-based instrument for the measurement of the electric power quantities defined in IEEE Std 1459, both for single phase and three phase systems. The instrument is based on a time domain technique for the detection of fundamental and harmonic components of voltages and currents. The time domain strategy is developed for both single phase and four wires three phase systems. Accuracy characterization is performed considering the presence of voltage and current transducers by means of a power calibrator
