Abstract
The concept of using a uni-planar compact electromagnetic band gap (UC-EBG) substrate to achieve dual-band resonances from a single patch antenna is presented. Antenna performance of a probe-fed patch antenna at 2.36GHz and 1.68 GHz has been achieved with a single layer UC-EBG substrate in the HFSS simulation. Further computational and experimental investigation is presented at the conference.
