Abstract :
Two simple and efficient approaches for compressing stepped chirp signals are introduced in this paper. The first approach is realized in frequency domain by matched filtering and the second approach is realized in time domain by de-chirping processing to the echo from each chirp signal in a burst. The algorithm steps for both approaches are given as well as comparison of the two approaches. Computer simulations were presented to show the validity of the proposed algorithms.
