Abstract :
A 10 GHz low power CMOS quadrature voltage-controlled oscillator (QVCO) realized with LC-tank is presented. The QVCO is fabricated by TSMC 0.18μm 1P6M CMOS process. Based on the simulation results, this circuit draws 7.52 mA current from 1.8 V power supply. The total power consumption is 13.54 mW including the buffer. The tuning range is 730 MHz (about 7.3 %) and the phase noise is -103.44 dBc/Hz @ 1 MHz offset at 10 GHz. Compared with the recent proposed works by using the power-frequency-normalized figure of merit (FOM), it shows a better phase noise performance and lower power consumption.
