Abstract
The measured equation of invariance (MEI) is applied in 1D ADI-FDTD method, as an absorbing boundary condition. The MEI coefficients are found using the self metron technique. A configuration of Mur is proposed via averaging in both space and time, which is suitable to apply in the ADI-FDTD from the point of view of stability and accuracy. The results of the two ABC´s are discussed and compared with each other. Comparison shows that although the Mur-ABC has an exact form analytically, the MEI-ABC has the ability to have a better performance than a theoretically-transparent ABC. The reason of this fact is somewhat discussed.
