Abstract :
In this paper, pseudo-spectral time domain method (PSTD) is applied to simulate photonic integrated device. The PSTD method is implemented with a uni-anisotropic perfectly matched layer (UPML) boundary condition. A compact twin wave source is used as excitation, and a sub-grid based method is developed for modeling curved dielectric boundary. Our numerical simulation demonstrates that the present PSTD method is an efficient and accurate method for modeling photonic integrated devices.
