Abstract
The propagation characteristics of surface waves with periodic waveguides is investigated by introducing perfect electric or magnetic walls, and regarding the periodic corrugations as consisting of step discontinuities connected by a length of uniform slab waveguide. The use of conservation of complex power technique significantly reduces the computational cost.
