Abstract
Experimental study on a cylindrical sector dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is presented. Two configurations of the DRA fed with a 50 Ω microstrip transmission line are discussed which excites the broadside transverse magnetic modes TM12δ and TM22δ respectively. The return loss, input impedance and radiation patterns are studied. VSWR bandwidths of 12.35 % and 17.82 % are obtained for configurations 1 and 2 respectively and the radiation patterns are found to be broad over the entire bandwidth.
