  • Abstract
    Left handed transmission lines periodically loaded by series capacitance and shunt inductance have been fabricated and assessed using electro-optic sampling. On the technological side, electron beam patterning and thin film silicon nitride technology have been used for fabricating meander-like self-inductance and parallel plate capacitance on a micrometer scale. For the characterization, broad band (up to 1 THz) pump probe experiments have been conducted using LTG GaAs and LTG AlGaAs patches. A direct experimental evidence of the left handed character is achieved by tracking the time dependence of a phase offset.
