Abstract
This paper aims to study and analyze the real time performance of dominant routing protocols for ad hoc wireless networks under power consumption constraints. It is evaluated the influence of the power consumption to the whole system performance (throughput, delay, network lifetime, channel fairness etc.) under various data flow patterns. The results of this study can be very useful for cross-layer design targeted to the improvement of the whole system performance of the ad hoc wireless networks
