Abstract :
This presentation aims to illustrate CE Electric UK´s approach to the refurbishment of overhead lines. It provides an overview of the end to end process followed to understand the future investment requirements of an aging overhead line asset base within a distribution network operator (DNO). It compares traditional and new overhead line inspection techniques used to gather asset condition information. The presentation demonstrates how CE Electric UK develops and justifies its investment decision making processes. It gives a real case study of one approach adopted for 132 kV tower lines, demonstrating the selection criteria and risk management techniques used to prioritise overhead lines for refurbishment.
