Abstract
Over a decade ago, some countries joined "The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change" and, in 1997, their governments committed themselves to control the greenhouse gases emissions under the so called Kyoto Protocol. This paper presents strategies and solutions that Southern African countries have committed themselves in order as to address the global warming phenomenon by implementing hydropower plants within a power superhighways framework.
