Abstract :
In this paper, we measure the "video data streaming" performance of Webcams for home networking to learn the relationship among the system response time, the data transmission rate and the number of connections, as these three variables affect the quality of service. We also use the benchmark to make a long-term performance measurement in order to collect enough results to describe the system characteristics. Finally, we use the embedded board to perform the image compression for the "video data streaming" of Webcams, in order to provide a higher efficiency by reducing the workload of the home server by 18.6%.
